It is no secret that I have not been a huge Sony fan over the past couple of years; I just haven't seen anything from the current generation that excited me on their console or from their camp.  That was before Sony unveiled a little gem by the name of Little Big Planet.  There are a lot of people who are very skeptical about the potential of this game but not me.  When I look at this game, I think that the creativity of the gaming community along with the efforts of Media Molecule are going to give players endless possibilities...

People who purchase this game need to know what they are getting their selves into before the drop the money on the game because this is something different than just about anyone has played before.  LBP is going to be the perfect mesh of platforming with customization and multiplayer.  You are going to have to put the time into all of those aspects in order to get the most out of the game. It is the creative aspect of the game that excites me the most because I consider the gaming community to be amongst the most gifted and creative out there and look forward to seeing the following evolve from the game:

Original Machinima: The emotional expressions of the game should make for some pretty hilarious creations and series to be born on the interweb.  Up until this point, Red versus Blue has been the most well-known machinima in existence but that could change with the options available in this game.  I have a feeling that there are going to be some hilarious series evolving from Media Molecules masterpiece...

Machinima Remakes:  There were quite a few Halo themed movie remakes that made their way to the web, most notably the Matrix remake from years ago.  The fact that players are going to be able to build their own sets and environments in LBP and control the emotions of the characters should make for some creative versatility.  I sort of compare my expectations of this to a skit that aired on a few episodes of the Chappelle Show where they would remake movies as they would have happened in reality; the two of the most notable remakes that Dave Chappelle made were Ghost and Pretty Woman.  This could lead to some serious comedic gold...

Classic Platormer Remakes: LBP is a platform game at heart which should lend to gamers recreating some classic levels from games like the original Super Mario Bros. or Mega Man games.  These should be pretty comical and fun...

General online, mulitplayer shenanigans:  The game looks like the ultimate chatroom above all, assuming that there is voice chat available in the game.  I would argue that some of the most fun that I have had online has been in the lobby of either a Gears of War or Halo 3 game... the shenanigans have a tenancy to just get plain insane.  If you take that environment and add in the ability to emote through the use of the LBP characters and customizable environments, you will have the makings of a fun evening...

Long story short, this game just looks plain fun...

When I first bought my PS3 this one was barely even on my radar, I knew the gaming publications were talking it up but the screenshots did not make it look like the type of game I would enjoy playing. As I have seen more though this has shot up to being my most anticipated title in a long time. I am seeing all the possibilities for designing your own levels, and I am dreaming up all kinds of ideas. I think every gamer has thought about designing games at one point, but most of us do not have the programming knowledge or the resources it actually takes to design a game. Little Big Planet will allow us to finally make all those platformers we were dreaming up during the NES days, and it will also allow us to make levels with the modern day themes that we would love to see in video games but haven't yet. It may look like a kiddie game at first glance, but considering the customization involved there will no doubt be plenty of levels aimed at a more adult audience. I expect a lot of very funny levels, some very controversial levels, and some very fun levels that all ages can enjoy.

I guess my question is what is reason #1 and #1.75?

lol, It's a toss up between this and metal gear. MGS is a really good game, but I couldn't see myself paying 300-500 dollars on a 30 hour experience, this game could hold my interest for a really long time.
